STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS OF TANLU FAULT ZONE IN THE BOHAI SEA

Abstract: In the Cenozoic,the intense strikeslip movement and complex evolvement of TanLu fault zone in Bohai Sea controlled the basin evolution and hydrocarbon accumulation.Through a comprehensive analysis of the seismic data and geological data in Bohai Sea,the TanLu fault zone in the region with a width of 50km,is divided into the East Branch and West Branch.TanLu fault zone is divided into the southern section and the northern section by ZhangjiakouPenglai fault.East Branch fault and West Branch fault of the southern section have very obvious strikeslip characteristics and East branch of the northern section has very obvious strikeslip characteristics,but the West branch has not.In the Paleogene,the East Branch and West Branch of the northern section were strikeslip movement,but late cutting of ZhangjiakouPenglai fault,resulting in West Branch strikeslip fault was blocked and abandoned,so the main strikeslip movement was on the East branch in the Neogene and the Quaternary.
