Abstract:
The Stress distributions inside formation caused by temperature change were computed through simplified 2-dimension finite element model. The paper studied the possible effects of various kinds of operation on sand production through stress changes. The results indicated that stability of wellface and surrounding formation probably decreased with the increment ofthe temperature, but increased flow ability of oil. So it is contradictory to keep formation stable and increase flow ability of oil.
Key words: heavy recovery, wellface stability, sand production, temperature-change stress
