Abstract:

Since Nanzhao period, local gods（benzu）worship has been Bai's ethnic religion for more than one thousand years.
Although local gods worship is a kind of primitive religion, there are local gods temple, local gods statue, local gods temple fair,
sacrificial rites and folk customs. Local gods worship of the Bai has had a profound impact on customary law with Bai local gods
worship as one of the important origins of Bai minority customary law. It plays an important role in adjusting the relationship between
man and nature, man and man, man and society to form a complete set of code of conduct and norms, forming unique referee in the
dispute resolution rule, and constructing a harmonious Bai society.
