Abstract:

Objective: To analyze the relationship between the changes of serum low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C), C-reactive protein(CRP), brain natriuretic peptide(BNP) levels and the severity of coronary artery disease in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Methods: A total of 88 patients with AMI who received percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) were selected and divided into mild group, moderate group and severe group according to Gensini scores, and their serum LDL-C, CRP, and BNP levels were compared. Results: There were statistically significant differences in serum LDL-C, CRP, and BNP levels among the 3 groups(P<0.05). And Pearson correlation analysis showed that serum LDL-C, CRP, BNP levels were significantly positively correlated with Gensini scores; the results of multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that serum LDL-C, CRP, and BNP levels were the predictors of the severity of coronary artery disease. Conclusion: Serum LDL-C, CRP, BNP levels in patients with AMI are closely related to the severity of coronary artery disease. It is a predictor of the severity of coronary vascular disease in patients with AMI.
