Abstract: The practical teaching of ideological and political course in Dali University has taken a successful road by exploring and
applying the "excellent students preaching method". It covers a wide range of subjects，has a large number of participants and
constitutes distinctive regional，national and contemporary features，which has achieved rich and diverse results. Meanwhile，it also
solves many difficulties effectively such as the confined practical teaching coverage，inadequate applying theory into practice，low
level of students' enthusiasm and unobtrusive main position，low effectiveness，insufficient students' sense of acquisition and
practical teaching funds，tough organization and management，man-sized of safety prevention and control，etc. The method is
initiative in colleges and universities throughout the country，which embodies the innovation of concepts，methods and thoughts. It
has been highly approved by teachers and students，college peers and all parties in society. However，to further achieve practical
results，it is necessary to strengthen the implementation of responsibilities，improve organizational management and focus on key
links.
