The Admiration, Selection and Content Conversion of Buddhism by KANG Youwei

When the advocation of taking Confucianism as the national religion of China was prevailing, KANG Youwei canonized Buddhism. Among the Buddhist schools, KANG greatly appealed to Zen and Huayan sect. His selection and exegesis of Buddhism,which had distinct characteristics of the modern era and led a modern mode of the academy, converted the content of Buddhism.

Abstract:
