Abstract:

Dali Government Chorography composed in the Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty was the first and only existing chorography in Dali Bai Minority Autonomous Prefecture today. The main author LI Yuanyang was a famous philosopher and writer in Dali region in Ming dynasty. However, due to the reasons of history and war,the chorography is incomplete and lacks of systematic sorting and study. The study and judgment of different versions are crucial tohistorical chorography; however, later historians and scholars had different opinions to this chorography. We believe that the Dali Government Chorography composed in the Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty was a unique copy, whose carving copy was preserved in the ancient book section of the national library.
