Abstract:

Objective: To observe the effect of recombinant human epidermal growth(rhEGF) factor on serious contusion wounds
and its adverse reactions. Methods: Fifty-six cases with one hundred and forty-eight wounds were divided into two groups. On the
base of routine treatment, rhEGF was added to treatment group and 0.05% iodophor disinfection solution was conducted to control
group. The healing time of the two groups was observed respectively. Results: The average healing time for shallow Ⅱ degree
contusion wounds was 9.56±1.74 days for treatment group and 12.75±3.18 days for the control. The average healing time for deep II degree contusion wounds was 18.16±2.67 days in treatment group compared with 21.26±3.83 days in the control. The healing time was significantly shorter(P < 0.05, 0.01)in rhEGF group than the control. The effective rate in rhEGF group was 90.72%. Conclusion:rhEGF can promote healing in Ⅱ degree contusion wounds, especially for deep Ⅱ degree wounds.
