Determination of the Content of Ellagic Acid and Gallic Acid in Geranium strictipes

Abstract

Abstract:

Objective: To establish a method of determining the content of ellagic acid and gallic acid in Geranium strictipes.
Methods: HPLC method was used with Thermo C18 chromatography column（250 mm×4.6 mm, 5 μm）. Mobile phase was methanol -
0.1% phosphoric acid water solution gradient elution, the detection wavelength was 260 nm, the flow rate was 1.0 mL/min, and the
column temperature was 30 degree. Results: Ellagic acid in 6.38-31.88 μg/mL range r=0.999 1 and gallic acid in 11-55 μg/mL range
r=0.999 1 showed a good linear relationship. The average recovery rate was 99.2%（RSD=1.9%） and 97.6%（RSD=1.5%）.
Conclusion: This method is simple, rapid, accurate and good in reproducibility, which can effectively determine the content of ellagic
acid and gallic acid in Geranium strictipes.
