Abstract:

Objective: To analyze the factors of mental patient's suicide behaviors and propose interventive measures. Methods: 57
cases of suicidal behaviors by mental patients admitted at our hospital from 2009 September to 2014 September were retrospectively studied. Results: Patients with schizophrenia were at the highest risk of suicide（68.42%）. Depression and pessimism were the leading causes of suicide（66.67%）. Hanging and poison-taking were the major ways of suicide. Midday and midnight were periods at the highest risk. Conclusion: The suicidal behaviors of depression patients with schizophrenia could not be ignored. Effective nursing interventions could reduce patient's suicide and suicide rate.
