Imbalance between the Tradition and Modernity of Ethnic Education Seen from the Mother Tongue#br# Attrition: Based on a Field Study in Yulong Village, Lijiang City#br#

Abstract: Ethnic language is the carrier of ethnic culture, so its gradual attrition means the gradual loss of traditional ethnic culture.
This study analyzes and explains the intergenerational attrition differences and influencing factors of 78 daily words in Naxi language in
Yulong Village, Lijiang City, through a combination of quantitative and qualitative studies. The results show that the imbalance
between the tradition and modernity of the villagers' education in Yulong village is an important cause that leads to the significant
intergenerational differences of Naxi language attrition. Therefore, the theory of "multi-integration education" that advocates the
coexistence of diverse cultures has prospective theoretical significance and practical value for realizing the balance between the
tradition and modernity of ethnic education and saving the mother tongues.
