Relationship between Basic Psychological Needs and Positive Emotions of Freshmen:The Regulatory Effects of Gender

Abstract: Based the Basic Mental Needs Scale and the Positive Emotion Scale, the current study surveyed 394 college freshmen to
investigate the relationship between basic psychological needs and the positive emotions of college freshmen and the regulatory role of
gender. The results show that there is a significant positive correlation between basic psychological needs and the positive emotions of
freshmen, and positively predicts positive emotions; gender plays a regulatory role between basic psychological needs and positive
emotions of freshmen. It can be seen that basic psychological needs have an impact on the positive emotions of college freshmen, and
girls with high basic psychological needs scores are more likely to have positive emotions.
