Abstract: The native officer system is the product of the Central Plains Dynasty's policy of restraining the ethnic minorities in the southwestern border of the motherland. It has played an important role in maintaining national unity, border stability and national unity and progress. The Zuos' Tusi system of Weishan Yi people in Yunnan lasted for three dynasties, i.e., Yuan, Ming and Qing. During Ming and Qing dynasties, the Zuo's family members inherited the official position and title for 514 years, and thus became one of the three most powerful and long-lasting Tusi of the ethnic minorities in Yunnan. The Zuos had attached great importance to family management and regional autonomy, and made indelible contributions to the construction of family and local politics, economy and culture. Based on Menghua Zuo Family Genealogy, Menghua Zuo Tuguan Records and tablet inscriptions, the article explores the successful experiences of the Zuos in family governance, livelihood services, family and country isomorphism, national unity and progress, etc .
