Analysis of Care Needs of Diabetic Patients
and Influencing Factors in Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture

Abstract

Abstract: Objective： To investigate the current situation of diabetic patients' needs for care in Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture， and analyze the factors influencing their care needs. Methods： Convenience sampling method was used to select 200 patients with diabetes mellitus from endocrinology department of two general hospitals in Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture， and the general information questionnaire and the care needs questionnaire for diabetic patients were used for investigation. Results： The total care demand score of diabetic patients in Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture was （3.40±0.53） points. The major factors significantly influencing the nursing demand of diabetic patients include physical condition， duration of diabetes， place of residence， household monthly income and diabetic complications. Conclusion： The total needs of diabetic patients for care in Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture is at a medium level. Attention should be paid to the care-oriented self-management education of diabetic patients， so as to improve their quality of life.
