Application of Curriculum Ideological and Political Concepts in the Teaching of Surgical Nursing Practice in Higher Vocational Colleges

Abstract: Objective:To explore the application effect of curriculum ideological and political concepts in the teaching of surgical nursing practice in higher vocational colleges. Methods: The lottery method was applied to divide the four classes of the higher vocational nursing major of Huangshan Vocational and Technical College into the control group and the experimental group. The experimental group adopted the blended learning based on the concept of curriculum ideology and politics, while the control group adopted the traditional teaching method. Before and after the implementation of the study, the nursing professional identity of the students in the two groups was evaluated, and the operation assessment scores and the teaching satisfaction of the practical training courses were compared between the two groups after teaching. Results: Before the implementation of the study, there was no significant difference in the total score and the scores of each dimension of nursing professional identity between the two groups(P>0.05). After the implementation of the study, the students in the experimental group had higher scores in operation assessment, teaching satisfaction, and nursing professional identity than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: The application of blended teaching under the concept of curriculum ideology and politics in surgical nursing practice teaching for nursing students in higher vocational colleges can stimulate students' interest in learning, improve students' identity with nursing profession, and enhance teaching effects, which is worthy of promotion and application.
