The Predictive Value of NLR for the Severity of Acute Pancreatitis

Abstract:

Objective： To investigate the early predictive value of neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio（NLR） in the severity of acute pancreatitis（AP）. Methods： The clinical data of 112 patients with AP admitted to the Department of Gastroenterology， the First Affiliated Hospital of Dali University from January 2020 to January 2022 and 98 healthy subjects during the same period were collected. Patients were divided into non-severe AP groups（n=80） and severe AP groups（n=32） according to the severity of AP. The NLR levels of different crowds were compared. Receiver operating characteristic curve （ROC curve） was used to analyze the diagnostic efficacy of NLR for the severity of AP. Results： The level of NLR in AP patients was significantly higher than that in physical examiner， and the level of NLR in severe AP patients was significantly higher than that in non-severe AP patients， with statistical significance（P<0.01）. The ROC curve analysis showed that NLR had the largest area under the curve （0.761 9） for the diagnosis of AP severity. Conclusion： NLR has a certain value in predicting the severity of AP.
