Abstract: Objective: To analyze an outbreak of human adenovirus infection in a swimming club in Yuxi City, providing scientific
basis for the prevention and control of adenovirus outbreak in this area. Methods: Field epidemiological methods were used to
investigate, describe the epidemic characteristics and analyze the causes of the outbreak. Results: The epidemic lasted for 22 days, 94
cases were reported, with an incidence rate of 10.15%. The peak time of the disease was August 6 to 8, with 41 cases （accounting for
43.62%）. The clinical symptoms were mainly fever, abdominal pain, pharyngeal congestion or pharyngeal pain and conjunctival
congestion. The onset age was concentrated between 4 and 8 years old, and the male to female ratio was 0.81:1; 47 of 94 samples were
positive for adenovirus antigen, and the positive rate was 50.00%. Conclusion: This event was an outbreak of human adenovirus
infection related to swimming. The main reason for the outbreak was that the sanitation and disinfection measures in the swimming pool
were not in place.
