Preliminary Test for Chemical Compositions of Nanocnide lobata from Three Gorges Reservoir

Abstract

Abstract: Objective: To analyze the initial chemical compositions of Nanocnide lobata from three gorges reservoir by the preliminary test. Methods: The test tube assay and paper assay were adopted to analyze the solution extracted by water, ethanol and petroleum ether of Nanocnide lobata from three gorges reservoir．The chemical compositions of the extract were identified by a variety of color reactions or precipitation reactions of indicator and chromogenic agent. Results: Nanocnide lobata may contain organic acids, polysaccharides, glycosides, coumarins or lactones, flavonoids, steroids or triterpenes, volatile oils or oils and other chemical compounds. Conclusion: This study preliminarily identified the type of the chemical compounds of Nanocnide lobata, which provides the foundation for further research on its medicinal value.
