Cultural Connotation of Pumi People's Burial Custom

Abstract:

"Geiyangzi" is a traditional burial custom of Pumi minority from generation to generation. As a unique cultural
expression, "Geiyangzi" embodies the ideology of an ethnic group, and more important, it is a significant bond to rebuild the spirit of
the ethnic group. Therefore, it carries a profound cultural connotation. Basing on the survey of "Geiyangzi" burial custom in Pumi's
traditional settlement in Hexi Township of Lanping County in Nujiang, this paper studied the cultural connotation of this burial custom
from burial gifts, symbolic colors, and the Book of Burial.
