Abstract: In spite of remarkable achievements in energy cooperation endeavors，differences still exist between China and the US.Foreign Assistance Act excludes China from the list of nations the US tends to assist.Some American organizations and scholars as well also regard China's demand for energy as a threat to both the US and the global energy market.And the US puts too much stresses on its unilateral interests in energy acquisition.The first step to the settlement of differences between the two countries is to face the reality relating to energy problems—there are better opportunities for cooperation than competition.Only on such basis can mutual benefits and challenges be located and range of cooperation be widened，which thus will lead to a win-win end.
