Abstract: The cultural diversity in current society of changes has brought an unprecedented impact on university student’s thoughts，beliefs and attitudes. This paper explores various impacts pop culture plays with its own novel content and form on different aspects of contemporary college students，and objectively analyses the irrationality of campus pop culture and the guiding role of the university ideological and political education work in it. We believe that in such context university ideological and political work should be carried out by following the fashion of popular culture，and paying due attention to entertaining nature of popular culture. By promoting what is beneficial and abolishing what is harmful，ideological and political education in universities can very well join hands with campus popular culture，so as to guide college students to create a healthier campus cultural environment.
