Construction Practice of Feature Column of Local University Journals——A Case Study on

Abstract

Abstract: Local universities can improve the core competitiveness of university journals and can effectively promote the discipline construction by constructing feature columns based on university discipline advantages.The authors summarize the practice in recent years by taking the "advanced materials and energy" column of Journal of Xihua University (Natural Sciences Edition) as an example.We constructed the feature columns by the following steps:(1) correct positioning in the university, (2) obtaining policy supports from university in professional title assessment,scientific research and finance,(3) relying on expert editorial board to ensure the academic quality,and (4) constructing feature column based on discipline advantages of the university.By this way the Journal of Xihua University (Natural Sciences Edition) has enhanced its influence and has provided an effective service to the discipline construction,which achieves a win-win situation for the journal and the disciplines.
