Abstract: Geological relics are universally acknowledged important natural and cultural heritages and are important protection objects and contents of geological parks. Developing ecotourism is an important way of protection of ecosystem integrity and local economic development as it advocates moderately development on a restricted scale and effective protection at a larger scale. Huayingshan National Geological Park is abundant in resources of geological structures, geomorphological landscapes, water landscapes and fossil landscapes, supplemented by red culture and Buddhist culture. With 105 geological relics of 6 categories, 13 sub-categories, Huayingshan provides rich research and tourist resources. In order to better coordinate the relationship between the protection of geological relics and local development, this paper makes a quantitative evaluation of the geological relics by analyzing the characteristics and types of geological relics, and puts forward the "1+2+N" model of geopark development and utilization.
