Improving the Traditional Binary Moral Education Mode in Colleges——A Discussion from the Perspective of Situational Moral Education

Abstract: Moral education is an important part of China's higher education,and is the basic goal of talent cultivation in colleges and universities. Since the reform and opening up, China's moral education in colleges and universities has made remarkable achievements in theory and practice. At present, traditional moral education mode in universities is characteristic of duality of rationality and emotion, theory and practice, subject and object, which, to some extent, affects the realization of the goal and value of moral education in universities. Situational moral education enables the educated to experience comprehensive study of knowledge,emotion,meaning and action through feeling,imagination and understanding by creating vivid moral situations that integrates knowledge and practice. Through the construction of the education goal of unity of knowledge and practice, the education subject with fusion of horizons and the education content integrating reason and emotion,situational moral education can effectively solve the dilemma of "binary opposition" in the traditional moral education mode and is expected to be the breakthrough in improving moral education teaching.
