Abstract: Since its founding, the Communist Party of China has been striving to seek happiness for the people. This is clearly reflected in CPC's efforts to satisfy the poor farmers' need for residence in the Yan'an period with a series of theoretical exploration and practices aimed at solving their problems of "no residence" and "poor residence". The exploration and practices resulted in ethics of residential need, ethics of residential space, ethics of residential care, ethics of residential interpersonal relationship and ethics of residential value, which condensed into an important embodiment of the good governance of the CPC in Yan'an period, highlighting the ethical spirit and wisdom of the CPC to take people as the center and seek happiness for the people wholeheartedly.
