Abstract: Based on the survey of the current situation of rural domestic waste pollution in Pingchang County in Sichuan Province, this paper analyzes the impact of rural domestic waste on the natural environment, the quality of produce and on the health of the rural residents. The data show that the main obstacles to the prevention and control of rural domestic waste pollution include rural residents' lack of environmental protection awareness, imperfect laws and regulations of environmental protection, inadequate supervision by environmental law enforcement bodies, and poor sanitation infrastructure in rural areas. We suggest publicizing the ecological civilization concept to promote rural resident's green consumption awareness; relevant laws and regulations of rural environmental protection should also be further improved, and village committees should more effectively do their duty in protecting the rural environment. To promote the construction of rural ecological civilization system, we should speed up the construction of infrastructure for environmental protection in rural areas and develop ecological agricultural economy.
