Abstract: Both qualitative and quantitative analyses are made about college English teachers′ belief.The study involves 108 college English teachers from 3 universities in Sichuan.The results reveal that the subjects are openminded in teachers′ belief.But their beliefs differ in the dimensions of student learning,teacher job assessment,curriculum and student management.The sources for teachers′ belief changes are also probed based on which a conclusion is made that quality of college English teaching and teachers′ sustainable development can be promoted by promoting teachers′ beliefs.
