Abstract: Both qualitative and quantitative analyses are made about college English teachers′ belief.The study involves 108 college English teachers from 3 universities in Sichuan.The results reveal that the subjects are openminded in teachers′ belief.But their beliefs differ in the dimensions of student learning，teacher job assessment，curriculum and student management.The sources for teachers′ belief changes are also probed based on which a conclusion is made that quality of college English teaching and teachers′ sustainable development can be promoted by promoting teachers′ beliefs.
