Abstract: Considering the shear thinning effect, adsorption and inaccessible pore volume, a 3-D two-phase four-component well testing model for polymer flooding was established. Based on PEBI grid, the finite volume method was used to solve the polymer flooding model, and a well testing software for polymer flooding was developed. We studied the influence of shear thinning effect on wellbore pressure, and the results show that shear thinning effect may result in a sudden drop of the pressure derivative curves. This discovery accords with the actual measured results of oil field, and is instructive to well testing analysis and formation parameter inversion.
