Abstract:

Pubei oil field in the Tuha basin, Xinjiang is a typical volatile oil reservoir, and it is the first one to be under miscible flooding in China. Whether miscible flooding happens or not in this field depends on the miscibility pressure. In order to determine the minimum miscibility pressure (MMP), PVT tests and slim tube simulation were carried out and the MMP was calculated. In addition, MMP was analyzed and interpreted on the pseudo-ternary phase diagram. Simulation results are in good accordance with those of laboratory measurements. It is concluded that miscible flooding can be realized in this field under the present formation conditions.
