Abstract: The water drives characteristic curve aimed at domestic use can only deai withfw～R*curve, the common water drive characteristic curve can reflect all types offw～R*relation curve, but the expression is complicated, the parameterse difficult to solve, and not suitable for practical use. On the basis of existed research, a simple fw～R*water drive characteristic curve integrating two types of relations is put forward. Practical calculation shows that the established new type of water drive characteristic curve matches practical data better, result is more reliable, and better value is demenstrated to the predicted recoverable reserve and productivity of water drive reservoirs.
