Abstract: Low-salinity,94.3% chemical composition of HCO3、Cl、Na+the main formation water form with NaHCO3and NaCl are the basic characteristics of the NaHCO3 type fluid in the west Liaohe sag, based on the 886 samples of formation water analysis.Na+ cation takes up not only absolute superiority but also controls of chemical spatial distribution the formation water.Rich albitization of plagioclase of the source rocks in the vicinity is the key factor controlling Na+ coming into being.Besides of water-rock interaction, the large number of hydrocarbon generation has close relationship with HCO3accumulation.Clcomes from the dissolved salt matter.Impacted by basement morphology and tectonic evolution, formation water can be divided into two relatively independent fluid activity units in north and south respectively. The north is mainly affected by the water evaporation and the south is controlled by hydrocarbon generation.
