Abstract: Wadang in Han Dynasty manifests the highest level of the art of tile making in ancient China. Wadang calligraphy is a unique branch in ancient Chinese calligraphy art. Wadang calligraphy is closely related to the Qi (emotion demonstration). The aesthetic styles of Wadang calligraphy like smoothness，aggressiveness，introversion and gracefulness represent the emotional states of happiness，anger，gloom and peace. In Wadang calligraphy，the structure of the characters must adapt to the circular form of Wadang，which finally result in the eight forms of mentality: loftiness，peacefulness，solemnity，splendor，uniqueness， beauty，retrospectiveness and unworldliness. The beauty of movement，strength and mentality constitute the aesthetic pursuit of Wadang calligraphy and reflect the contemporary aesthetic and cultural emphasis on aggressive and active life in the prime time of Han Dynasty
