Abstract: Textual Research of the Collection of Hanyu's Works, the master piece of Zhu Xi's textual criticism, is regarded by Qian Mu as“ahead of the times”and“opening up approaches for later textual criticism studies”. However,Zhu xi did not collate for collation's sake. His purpose was to criticize Han Yu's Confucianism and then explain his own Neo-Confucianism thoughts by collating Han's works. The main manifestations are as follows: by criticizing Han Yu's ignorance of“practicing”, he put forward the method of practicing“humanity, justice and morality”in daily life;by criticizing Han Yu's lack of Taoist style, he put forward that Tao is“principle of both the ancient and the modern”;by criticizing Han Yu talking about the Great Learning but never mention“Knowledge is acquired through experience”, which is an important content in the Great Learning; by criticizing Han Yu's view of“discussing the human nature regardless of the spirit”, he put forward the viewpoint that human nature and the spirit depend on each other; and by criticizing Han Yu was always in the process of writing and speech, he put forward that“the origin of literature is from Tao”; by criticizing Han Yu for not paying attention to self-cultivation and self-examination, he put forward the moral cultivation theory with“self-cultivation and self-examination” as the important content.

Key words: Zhu Xi, Textual Research of the Collection of Hanyu's Works, Neo-Confucianism, acquiring knowledge through experience, integration of literature and Taoism, self-cultivation and self-examination
