LESSONS FROM US ENERGY POLICY AND NEW ENERGY DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIES IN CHINA

Abstract: Global energy market volatility and drop of oil prices arouse people′s concern about development of new energy.The U.S.,the largest consumer of world energy,introduces a set of new energy policies.China also introduces its policy concerning new energy.This paper mainly analyzes the backgrounds for American new energy policy,its characteristics and its implications to China.Then the author draws the conclusion that to develop new energy in China,both legislation and policy should favor new energy development,and that basic research and integration of production,learning and research should be strengthened to further corporate innovation.In addition,replacement of ultra highvoltage power grid by smart grid,and more intensive international cooperation are also recommended for this purpose.
