Abstract: Based on a study on industrial structure and economic development in Nanchong，this paper makes a quantitative analysis of the relationship between the industrial structure and economic development in Nanchong.The study reveals that the primary and third industries play a dominant role in Nanchong′s economic development while the secondary industry plays only a limited role in promoting economic growth.And in the secondary and third industries，industry sector，science，education，culture and ，medical sector，retailing and whole sale sector and catering and lodging sector contribute most to economic growth in Nanchong while architecture，transportation，communication and postal service，tourism and finance and insurance sectors play a limited role.The analysis directs the way of future structure adjustment in Nanchong and thus is of reference for local government′s policy making decisions.
