Abstract: Taking educational experiences of the Southwest Petroleum University as an example，the authors of this paper think that the modern time university spirit is characterized by national spirit，humanity character，rational thinking and pragmatic attitude which contribute to university moral education in guiding，edifying，inspiring and uniting students.Therefore，they suggest that emphasis should put on university spirit and its effect on moral education in order to promote moral education in universities.
