Abstract: Illegal immigrants to China have raised the cost of social governance. The repatriation of illegal immigrants is characterized by long-term,complex and arduous nature, which makes the task of combating illegal immigration and smuggling arduous. At present, the repatriation of illegal immigrants in China has achieved certain results, but there are still problems as follows:lack of strong systematic laws, neglecting the prevention and control of illegal immigrants, inadequate cooperation of law enforcement agencies, low effectiveness of illegal immigration control, lack of the professional talents, and insufficient international cooperation. It is necessary to improve the effectiveness of illegal immigration repatriation work by improving the systemic and pertinence of relevant laws, strengthening prevention and control of illegal immigrants, enhancing cooperation among law enforcement agencies, strengthening the construction of professional teams of illegal immigrants, and by further deepening international cooperation in illegal immigrant repatriation.
