Abstract: The construction of Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle is an important strategy to help the economic and social development of the west of China. The Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle will build a diamond-shaped geographical space for China's high-quality development together with the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the integration of Yangtze River Delta and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau greater bay area. At the turning point of China's economic development, the construction of Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle is faced with the following problems:the internal synergy of building a world-class urban agglomeration needs to be improved; the building an important growth pole for high-quality development is under challenge, and the scale and level of industrial agglomeration development need to be strengthened. In order to contribute to the high-quality development of Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, we should highlight the leading role of national major cities, building an important national economic center through coordinated development of industrial integration, building an important national scientific and technological innovation center through cultivation of new kinetic energy, building a new highland of national reform and opening up through construction of an international gateway hub, and building a high-quality livable city through construction of park city demonstration zones.
