Abstract: In recent years, reservoir management, a hotspot in the oil and gas exploitation research and one of the most popular words in the present international oil and gas development area, has become an essential model efficiently exploit oil and gas abroad.This paper summarizes the definition, history and development of the reservoir management as well as the main factors affect-ing the successful reservoir management. The organization,
synergism and process of the reservoir management is presented in detail. A reservoir management software developed by SWPI is introduced concisely, and that Petro China should put the modern reservoir management into practice is also pointed out at the end of this paper.
