Abstract: Experimental test is conducted to investigate the influence of polymer sulphonation degree, concentration of polymer and crosslinker and salinity on AMPS polymer weak gel at temperature of 85℃ and STD of 100000mg/L with 2000mg/L of Ca2+ and Mg2+.The experimental test results indicate that the polymer sulphonation degree is the major factor to influence the properties of anti-salinity polymer weak gel.The higher salinity is needed to form the higher viscosity weak gel when AMPS polymer reacts with phenol aldehyde crosslinker. The higher viscosity and stability of the weak gel is available by using the higher concentration of polymer, while extra high concentration of crooslinker will result in formation of unstable weak gel.

Key words: weak gel, anti-salinity polymer, AMPS polymer, phenol-aldehyde crosslinker, enhanced oil recovery
