From the perspective of literature review abilities, this paper investigates Chinese EFL undergraduates in Yuxi Normal
University about their problems in graduation theses and gives some suggestions for improvement. The research result shows that,
regarding the abilities of choosing references, these undergraduates should pay more attention to the number of the entries of the
references, the percentage of Chinese and English references, and the percentage of new and old references. With respect to the
abilities of writing literature review, they should consider more about the ways to organize the writing logically and to give comments on
the reviewed literature.
