Abstract:

College students’networking lifestyle is more and more concerned. However, systematic media education of college
students was undermined by utilitarianism and marketism. The lack of media education makes college students unable to make
accurate judgment on the nature of excessive spread of media information, and can’t remain uncontaminated by the sugarcoated
harmful or pornographic information in the cyberspace. Therefore, they tend to blindly buy or even worship online
information, which may result in distortion of their values. The education administrators attribute some of the college students’
improper behaviors to network, and they refuse to accept the network behavior of college students, which restricts the media
literacy education for college students. In order to promote and strengthen media education in colleges,we must first foster
positive attitude to the Internet and to media education among education managers, making them actively adapt to the network
life. We must also construct a new model of cooperation among governments, colleges and families, promoting media education
innovation with multiple subjects involvement.

Key words: networking, college students, higher education, media education, marketism
