Influencing Factors on Early Kuomintang Members Propagation of Marxism

Abstract:

In the history of sinicization of Marxism, the bourgeoisie was one of the revolutionary parties that introduced and studied Marxism in China. As the representatives of the bourgeoisie at the early stage, Kuomintang, making it its mission to salvage China from subjugation, studied and propagated Marxism in search of the correct way of saving the nation, so as to blazed the trail in the spread of Marxism in China, from the time when Marxism was introduced to China to the first Kuomintang-Communist Party cooperation. There were objective factors for Kuomintang’s spreading Marxism, such as political situation at home and abroad, the early spread of Marxism in China, the influence of Chinese traditional culture and Japanese culture; there were also subjective factors included, such as seeking theoretical basis for the Three People’s Principles, the revolutionary initiative of the early Kuomintang members, and Sun Yat-sen’s highly evaluation of Marxism. Kuomintang’s introduction and propagation of Marxism enlightened the confused Chinese people at that time, beneficial to the spread of Marxism in China in the objective sense.
