Abstract: There is a disagreement about the existence of socialist thought in Chinese society, which focuses on different understandings of socialism. Socialism, a theory on elimination of exploitation and the pursuit of equality, is not unique to Western European social evolution, but a general phenomenon of human social development, and is associated with the national ideology and culture. In China, the theory of Datong and well-off in the "axial age" is the starting point of China's road; Chinese people's pursuing of ideal society corresponds in essence with the practical process of China's road. Since modern times the spread of the theory of evolution and the introduction of western theories have pushed the traditional Chinese ideal to the modern transformation, and have generated Kang Youwei's ideal world and Sun Yat-sen's socialism embodied in the form of three principles of the people. The traditional Chinese culture is the cultural foundation of China's road that nourishes Chinese people's pursuit of an ideal society. Therefore, when studying the relationship of traditional culture and China's road,we must grasp the dialectical relationship from the historical dimension and practical dimensions, not forgetting the original intention and future orientation, integrating inner basis and guiding ideology and holding cultural confidence and road confidence.

Key words: traditional culture, China's road, theoretical heritage, history proposition, cultural confidence, road confidence
