Petroleum，regarded as an important strategic material concerning national security，stands out among a variety of factors influencing the Sino-U.S. relations. Thus，the game for petroleum security will certainly arise due to different strategies taken by China and the U. S. A. As a result，America is considered as the most important international environment when the petroleum security is carried out in China. The solution of the problem of Chinese petroleum security, therefore, will certainly be affected by Sino-U.S. relations including interactive petroleum relations between the two countries. Given the complexity and interaction of the two countries′ interests, so it is suggested that consultation and cooperation in petroleum security should be reinforced. To participate in International Energy Agency is the best cooperation model for China at present.

As a complex competence system, the core competitive power of petroleum technology service enterprises consists of 18 factors, such as enterprise culture, R & D investment, core technology, and so on, which make the relationships among those factors more complex. With the application of ISM, this paper, by analyzing the complexity of component factors and their links, discusses those factors at superficial level, shallow level, medium level and deep level. It is hoped that the discussion contributes to the enhancement of the core competitiveness of petroleum technology service enterprises.

Based on the field investigation of Xiyue Temple located in Western Henan Province，and a survey made about the legends of temple and the miraculous stories in the villages，this paper makes an analysis and exploration of the belief continuity shown in the various legends and miraculous stories，as well as the farmers′ choice of meaning world and their behavior standards influenced by such belief. It is discovered that the villagers′ inside value subject can be revealed in the meaning network made up of Holy Spirit will. Besides，a variety of legends and miraculous stories contribute to spread of the Holy Spirit around the rural society，which causes villagers to follow a great deal of taboos and corresponding behavior standards in their daily lives in order to avoid being punished.

This paper focuses on the choice of leading industry that has direct influence on the regional economic competitiveness and the economic sustainable development in the city of Nanchong，which is one of the major central and underdeveloped cities in Sichuan Province. Based on the analysis of the primary characteristics of leading industries and their functions，the author introduces the evaluation system of establishing the choice of regional leading industries. By adopting the combination of both quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis，this paper suggests that petrol chemical industry，manufacture of mechanical auto components and equipment，and textile & clothing manufacture should be chosen as the leading industries to develop the economy in Nanchong city. Development strategies are also proposed according to their respective features. It is hoped that this paper provides some reference for further studies of the regional economic development and the evolution of the regional industrial structure.

This paper，from the perspectives of the elitist′s pursuit of value and the construction of gentleman′s personality，studies the development of ritual culture and the formation of gentleman′s personality in ancient Scholar-Bureaucrats，analyzes the basic meanings of elitist and the view of elitist cultivation in Confucianism，and discusses the internal elements in gentleman′s personality as well as the essential qualities required for a gentleman. As an important part of the traditional culture，the ritual theory has exerted great influence on forming the mentality of the ancient Scholar Bureaucrats. Confucianism has realized its pursuit of value mainly through the cultivation of the ritual spirit in Scholar Bureaucrats，namely，the social value of “external kings” is rooted in the cultivation of “internal saints”. From this perspective，the spirit of ritual theory is the main approach to the cultivation of ancient elites in culture and politics.

People usually pay close attention to the converge trend of Yi and Lao under the influence of metaphysics during the Wei and the Jin Dynasties and regard it as the new fashion of those ages. In fact，both Zhouyi and Laozi，classical books honored by Confucianism and Taoism respectively，but they are also associated with each other in many aspects，which makes up the ideological foundation of the integration trend of Yi and Lao. Such trend was carried on continually by scholars，such as Sima Jizhu in the early Western Han Dynasty，Yan Zun and Yang Xiong between the end of the Western Han Dynasty and the beginning of the Eastern Han Dynasty，and Ma Rong，Zheng Xuan and Yu Fan，etc. during the end of Eastern Han Dynasty，who were regarded as the predecessors of metaphysics by complementing Yi with Lao，or vise versa，during the Wei and the Jin Dynasties.

Taking the study and implementation of the Scientific Concept of Development in SWPU as an example，this paper discusses a series of issues about how to apply the Scientific Concept of Development into practice，how to highlight practice-oriented features，how to solve the problems existing in the process of development and how to enhance scientific development. Then two fundamental approaches are introduced to implement practice activities so as to reach actual effects：first，what kind of students to cultivate and how； second，what kind of university to development into and how. At last，some specific measures are suggested as follows：1) Organize activities with distinctive characteristics based on practice. 2) Grasp the key points and thoroughly implement the concepts of investigation and mind emancipation；3) Stress practice-oriented guideline in problem solving process.

Higher vocational education，different from the subject-centered undergraduate education，has its own particularity and professional characteristics. Guided by the Scientific Concept of Development，this paper，taking the higher vocational education in SWPU as an example，introduces the present problems in higher vocational education and the feasibility of developing such education. Then，it proposes that the “ability-quality”development should be the core of the higher vocational education. Besides，this paper, through theoretical and policy studies, aims to establish training mechanism and reform training models in higher vocational college.

This paper，focusing on the teaching practice in School of Economics and Management，SWPU, explores the problems in terms of the teaching staff construction，specialty construction and teaching management，which are inharmonious with the Scientific Concept of Development. Aiming at constantly promoting the teaching level and cultivating more high-quality talents，this paper puts forward some suggestions of how to apply the Scientific Concept of Development to teaching practice: change the former management concept into teacher-oriented one; improve regulations concerning teaching practice; give priority to innovation; standardize the specialty construction; and implement the management modernization. Through investigation and a comparative analysis，a series of measures are suggested to improve the teaching level and the teaching management in SWPU.
