Objective: To study the antimalarial activity of Dendrobenthamia capitata (Si-Zhao-Hua), and to lay the foundation for
the development of novel antimalarial drugs from plants. Methods: A β-hematin formation inhibition experiment was used to evaluate
antimalarial activity in vitro. The compounds were isolated and purified by column chromatography, and their structures were elucidated
based on the analyses of spectral data and physicochemical properties. Results: Four compounds were obtained from twigs and leaves
of D. capitata and identified as catechin (1), quercetin (2), isoquercitrin (3), and 2α-hydroxyursolic acid (4). All compounds were tested
for the antimalarial activity by β-hematin formation inhibition assay, compound 2 showed the IC50 value of (155.7 ± 6.5) μg/mL, and
the inhibition ratios of compounds 1 and 3 were 32.2% and 28.4% at the highest concentration, respectively. Conclusion: The extract
of D. capitata have certain β-hematin formation inhibition activity, the base of its active substance may be flavonoid.

antimalarial medicines. Methods: The crude extract, fractions and compounds from the plant were screened for antimalarial activities
by β-hematin formation inhibition assay, and the results were expressed as inhibition rate and IC50 values. The compounds were
obtained by column chromatography, and their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectral data. Results: The crude extract and
solvent fractions showed significant β- hematin formation inhibition activities, while only the compound 1 showed weak activity.
Conclusion: The crude extract and solvent fractions showed significant β-hematin formation inhibition activities. However, the active

divided into 5 groups randomly, which were positive control group, blank control group and Periplaneta americana low, medium and
high dose groups, the exhaustive swimming time, the activity of lactic dehydrogenase(LDH)in the blood after swimming 3 h, the
survival time under normal pressure accompanying with anoxic conditions, the viscera index, the carbon clearance index(K)and the
immune organ quality index(α)were measured. Results: Compared with the blank control group, the dose group had found that the
survival time and the swimming time prolonged, the LDH activity of blood increased, the viscera index increased, the K and α both
improved. Compared with the positive control group, the high dose group significantly prolonged the survival time of mice, the high
dose group and middle dose group significantly increased the exhaustive swimming time, the blood LDH activity of the high dose group
increased significantly, the K and α of high dose group had improved significantly. Conclusion: Periplaneta americana has the effects
of enhancing immunity and resisting fatigue.

Objective: To study absorption value of macromolecular substances in liquid culture medium of four monomer in
Geranium strictipes on three kinds of cariogenic bacteria. Methods: The Streptococcus mutans, Actinomyces viscosus, Lactobacillus
acidophilus were tested as microbe to determinate absorption value of macromolecular substances in liquid culture medium of the four
monomer in Geranium strictipes on three kinds of cariogenic bacterias with different concentrations. Results: The Gallic acid, the
Methyl ester of Gallic acid, catechins, ellagic acid have an enhanced role to external leakage of macromolecular substances in liquid
culture medium to three kinds of cariogenic bacteria. With the time and drug concentration, the absorption value of substances in liquid
culture medium increases gradually, the growth rate was more obvious in 2~8 h, and the effect of most groups was better than that of the
positive control group. Conclusion: Four Monomers in Geranium strictipes have an enhanced role to external leakage of
macromolecular substances in liquid culture medium, which can destroy the integrity of bacterial cell membranes.

Objective: To investigate the mechanism of PPARα on regulating the SOD2 expression. Methods: The BMEC and the
mice C57BL/6 were treated with fenofibrate. PPARα and SOD2 expression in BMEC and the brain microvessel of the mice C57BL/6
which treated with fenofibrate were tested by the real-time PCR. Luciferase reporter plasmid including the promoter of SOD2 was
named as pGL4 mSOD2 and the promoter of SOD2 which PPRE domain was mutated was named as pGL4 mu mSOD2. The activity of
Luciferase in BMEC which was co-transfected with Luciferase reporter system including pGL4 mSOD2, or pGL4 mu mSOD2 with
pGL4 was tested. Results: The expression of PPARα and SOD2 were enhanced in the BMEC or mice C57BL/6 treated with fenofibrate.
The activity of Luciferase in BMEC was promoted in the Luciferase reporter system including pGL4 mSOD2 when the fenofibrate was
used; however, there was no change of the activity of Luciferase in the Luciferase reporter system including pGL4 mu mSOD2 even
though the BMEC was treated with fenofibrate. Conclusion: Fenofibrate regulates the SOD2 expression by activating PPARα,
activated PPARα combine with pGL4 mSOD2 PPRE.

Objective: To analyze the prognostic roles of HIF-1α expression in gastric carcinoma based on data mining. Methods:
Using Oncomine database to analyze the expression of HIF-1α in gastric carcinoma. Using cBioportal online tool to analyze the gene
mutation of HIF-1α in gastric carcinoma. Using Kaplan-Meier Plotter database to analyze the prognostic roles of HIF-1α in gastric
carcinoma patients. Results: A total of 12 studies were involved HIF-1α in gastric carcinoma tissues and normal tissues, including 798
samples. Overall, using Kaplan Meier-Plotter database to analyze the prognostic roles of HIF- 1α in gastric carcinoma patients, the
results showed that high HIF-1α expression could improve the survival time of the patients with intestinal type gastric, with diffused
gastric carcinoma, or with mixed type gastric carcinoma, respectively(HR<1.0, P<0.05). Conclusion: Through data mining, it is
suggested that HIF- 1α is highly expressed in gastric carcinoma tissue, and the prognosis of patients with gastric carcinoma was
strongly correlated with the HIF-1α expression. HIF-1α is the protective factor for the prognosis of gastric cancer.

HBV(Hepatitis B Virus, HBV)DNA levels were tested in 5 000 HBsAg negative patients. Clinical, histopathologic and immunohistologic
tests were done in 26 HBV DNA positive, occult hepatitis B patients. Results: Histopathologically, 26 cases were chronic hepatitis,
among them, 24 had mild to moderate inflammation, 2 had severe inflammation. 25 had mild to moderate fibrosis, 1 had early cirrhosis.
There were 2 cases of mild fibrosis, 17 cases of moderate fibrosis, 6 cases of severe fibrosis, 1 case of early cirrhosis according to
Fibroscan tests. The Fibroscan results coincided with the pathologic results. Immunohistologically, 9 cases were HBsAg positive, 10
were HBcAg positive. Conclusion: Occult hepatitis B is one of the main cause of end-stage occult liver diseases and needs to be
    diagnosed and treated immediately.
