Abstract: Aiming at the construction of a harmonious society，the authors contend that the socialist concept of honor and disgrace should be taken as the foundation of social morality development.Socialist concept of honor and disgrace involves aspects of politics，economy and culture.It helps improve individual moral standard，inherit moral power of the society and attain the goal of human survival.Socialist concept of honor and disgrace is an internal moral control which forms the foundation of a harmonious society and virtuous citizens.Thus the socialist concept of honor and disgrace plays an important role in improvement of national cohesion and in construction of a harmonious society.
