Abstract: Songs and poetry of Northern Dynasty include songs and poetry collected by Music Bureau or written by scholars, folk songs, proverbs, etc. Most of them are reserved in the volumes of the General Anthology of Yuefu Poems, such as,the volume of Music By Liang Dynasty, the volume of miscellaneous songs and ballads, the volume of miscellaneous melodies and songs, the volume of suburban and monastic songs, etc.while some are kept in historical book or other books.Except for scholars, these songs and poetry are also created by the musicians of that time and some are folk songs. So,there is no way of tracing back to the authors of these works;what′s worse, their national origins are vague, too, for nobody knew exactly from which ethnic group in north China they came. Some of these songs and poetry, belong to Han people and others belong to other ethnic groups in the north. However, being passed down to present days, they have lost all their original characteristics and become Han′s.Modified by translators and compilers, some of these works are remarkably different from the original ones.
Key words: Norther Dynasty, songs and poetry, Music Bureau, folk songs of Northern Dynasty, Music by Liang Dynasty
