Abstract: You Mao，one of the Four Zhongxing Poets in the Southern Song Dynasty，had the least number of poems left after his death，which was not correspondent with his great fame when he was alive. Among the group of Zhongxing poets，You Mao was the most active one. His consultation with the famous poet Yang Wanli was of great meaning. Both of them spoke highly of Confucianism but looked down upon Taoism and had much in common in tastes，political opinions and personalities in tune. In literature，their poetry style was presented as from Jiangxi to the late Tang Dynasty. As a leader in the poetry，Yang Wanli appreciated You Mao′s talent，which helped to
promote the value of his poems and accelerate their popularity among the public. What′s more，their poetry style was so close to each other that they were given equal significance.
