Abstract:

Although blocked from the outside world by the surrounding mountains，Sichuan Basin was once the earliest developed economic center in China，and the cradle of Bashu culture.The siphon effect of Sichuan Basin can be seen in the following three respects：The low-lying basin has stronger centripetal force and competition and hence has greater influence and more potential for development；the basin is also a gathering center of human resources，materials，capitals and information；the fusion effect of the basin is related to fusion of intelligence and fortune.This paper points out in the end that taking the chances of West China development drive，post-quake reconstruction，integrated development of urban and rural areas，development of Chengdu-Chongqing economic Zone and expanding domestic demand，we will bring the siphon effect of Sichuan Basin into full play.
